The History of the Elevator Bridle

This revolutionary bridle was designed by Lorraine Green of Horsesense Saddlery and inspired by her chestnut mare Elevator.

Lorraine, a qualified saddle fitter, has ridden all her life, successfully competing in affiliated show jumping, eventing, hunter trials and dressage. Lorraine began to experience problems with her mare when concentrating solely on dressage. She listened to lots of advice, including "It's a red haired female, so whack it!" This was obviously out of the question as Lorraine had already realised the mare was sensitive and had had Elevator checked professionally by a vet, chiropractitioner, sports masseur, dentist and had eliminated any saddle fitting problems.

The most thought provoking information came from Kyra Kyrkland's first demonstration in the UK when she said, "A horse can feel a fly so why do we need so much kit to control him?" This seemed so obvious and simple it sent Lorraine and her husband Gary off on a trial of discovery.

The new bridle was soon in its first development stage, riding in a padded headcollar didn't cause too many problems but obviously needed further refinement. Researching this area of the horse in more depth led to the bridle's current design. It's simple and logical and protected by both design rights and copyright. Lorraine insisted the Elevator bridle was made of the finest grade English leather and enlisted superior craftsmen in the UK to manufacture her bridles.

The Elevator bridle is a quality product designed for a purpose. It's not made to a price! It's the very best you can offer your horse. Lorraine insists on maintaining this high standard and will not change the quality of leather in the same way she will only use highly skilled bridle makers.

The words most commonly used by these delighted riders are "It's amazing" or "a complete transformation" or even "Well I'm amazed". Top riders such as Nicola McGivern, Nicky Bennet, Ferdi, Maria and Michael Eilberg, Laura Fry and Captain John Ledingham, to name but a few, have all commented on the benefits found by changing to the Elevatort bridle. Just look at all the photographs in the equestrian magazines, you can't easily recognise different bridles, but you can't mis the elegance of the stunning Elevator Weymouth as most riders buy the model without the throat lash.

The Elevator bridle is available in Black, Havana or Nut in all sizes with a choice of Snaffle or Weymouth. To order, click here
