About us
Horsesense has been established at Solihull for over 15 years. It was created by Lorraine Green and her late husband, Gary.
It has been described as more of a boutique than a tack shop. Lorraine has an eye for new and interesting lines, so you are likely to see new fashions here first. If you're looking for something different, Horsesense is the place.
Horsesense is manned by a small friendly team of five, who all ride and compete at various levels. Staff are qualified to fit saddles, hats, body protectors and advise on wormers, so you know you are in safe hands. A comprehensive range of leading brands from around the world are available and they have over 450 saddles in stock at any one time.
Horsesense is a favourite with competition riders from all disciplines. Lorraine and the team pride themselves that they will not sell a saddle to anyone unless it is fitted personally. They have had customers bring their horses from as far away as the Channel Islands and Scotland to ensure a perfect fit. It is this attention to detail which, they believe, makes them different from the rest. A saddle fitting at Horsesense is an experience of a lifetime.
Lorraine has been involved with horses all her life and actively competes at BSJA, BE and BD events, while Gary was an ex-world champion motorbike racer. He was able to apply the technology from this background to the development of new products. An exciting example of this is the unique Elevator Bridle which they designed together.
Horsesense is open seven days a week and sells feed, supplements as well as the very best saddlery and clothing. It's very easy to find: only two minutes from Junction 4 of the M42, just off the A34000 Henley in Arden road. So why not drop in and try something different. You'll receive a warm welcome.
